THE RUTLAND GALLERY UPPINGHAM

New in Summer, 2026

From this July I am delighted to be showing with The Rutland Gallery in Uppingham, Rutland. ‘Lupins And Alliums’ (above) and ‘Iris’ (right) are currently displayed on the walls of the gallery together with a few smaller ones. All eleven paintings are listed on my Artists’ page on the gallery website and are all available to purchase from there as well as from the gallery.

The paintings are mostly still life with a couple of landscapes. My larger garden paintings bridge the two genres.

Whether or Not (tulips in vase) was inspired by my classical realism courses in Florence where we learnt the importance of values. Whatever the subject I want to celebrate life with colour and create attractive pictures which I hope enhance peoples’ lives.

Not The Only Fruit 6 × 8 in.

Whether or Not 10 × 12 in.

THOMPSON’S GALLERIES, ALDEBURGH

I first exhibited small still life paintings at Thompson’s Galleries when they were in Dover Street, London W1 in 1998. And in Aldeburgh, Suffolk from 2013 to the present day with a short break in 2020.

They now have the two large paintings pictured here.

All Tied Up is a studio still life of a bunch of hand tied flowers I made in a workshop: peonies, lilies, foxglove, eucalyptus and roses. Giardino Dell’Iris is inspired by the iris garden in Florence where I went to study classical painting at the Florence Academy of Art.
