This was a daily painting during the Strada January challenge, like the slightly larger persimmon picture, ‘Persimmon 1926’ also on my website. The black background brings out the colour of the fruit and texture of the antique silver bowl. The bowl features in a few of the Strada paintings. It’s a solid object but light at the same time. In both paintings the circular fruit is echoed in the shape of the bowl.
