Inspired by the still lifes at the wonderful William Nicholson exhibition at Pallant House Gallery in Chichester in early 2026. In my painting I put a Nicholson book behind a blue vase of snowdrops and some glass green beads of mine. I like his landscapes and portraits but it’s his still lifes which excel for me. His favourite silver bowl reflects peas (as here) and is powerful in its simplicity.
