Lemon Leaves

£950.00

Oil on canvas (11.5” x 16”)

Framed

This was the third oil painting I did in a Painting and Drawing workshop at the Florence Academy of Art In November, 2022. After we had painted the single pears we set up a more complicated still life with several elements but still focussing on shadow shapes to create form. Still limiting the number of colours so that we focuseed on drawing and controlling the values. The painting is built up with layers of value starting with underdrawing in brown paint. Subsequent layers introduce colour gradually until the lightest and brightest objects pop in the picture.
