Copper Pair

£950.00

Oil on canvas (12” x 16”)

Framed

This was one of two finished paintings that I did when I returned to the Florence Academy of Art to do Part II of Painting and Drawing workshop in June, 2025. The focus was still on the drawing and shadow shapes through the use of a limited number of colours and controlling the values. Here I tried to create more depth than ‘Lemon Leaves’ (also on my website) by bringing the fabric into the foreground and putting the larger copper pot in the background. The green velvet cloth is also the backcloth which is painted a very dark green.
